There is not a lot that is unique to growing vegetables on the
Avalon Peninsula, apart from the relatively short season and
 poor native soil.
However, given a half-decent summer and the time and effort to
improve your soil there is no reason that you cannot grow an
           extensive range of vegetables.
This booklet, (67 pages) shows you how, whether your ambition is
a 4 x 4 foot plot, or half an acre.
The vegetables are admirably illustrated by Betty Hall to help you
            identify them.
Hopefully you will be enticed to want to have a go so that you can
experience the pleasure, not only of gardening, but also of eating
            your own fresh grown produce.
