Newfoundland Horticultural Society Monthly meetings in Feb.- June & Sept.- Dec. are held on the 1st Tuesdays of those months at 8.00 p.m. at St. David’s Church Hall, 98 Elizabeth Avenue, St. John’s Refreshments available for 50 cents: Coffee, tea and ‘goodies’. David Mills will speak on building structures for climbing roses, he will also explain his approach to successful rose growing. 2. The NHS Members “Spring Flower Show” at the MUN Botanical Garden on Mt. Scio Rd.. will be held again on the 26th & 27th May 2012. Open to the public; Saturday 12.00noon to 4.30pm and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm Entrance to the show room is free, however MUN charges to go into the Gardens. Members, please arrange to bring along your exhibits on the Saturday morning: between 10.am and 12.noon. Can you think of something different to bring? The Newfoundland Horticultural Society will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2012 Plans are being made by the executive committee to celebrate with a NHS Flower Show on the 11th of August at the Farmer’s Field Day at the Cool Climate Crop Research Center (the Federal Government’s Agricultural Station) on Brookfield Road. ... more info. later …. |
